 Alastair Clarkson is a professional Australian rules football coach and former player. He is the current head coach of the Hawthorn Football Club, having previously coached the Melbourne Football Club and the Box Hill Hawks. He has been described as one of the greatest coaches in AFL history, and has been credited with revolutionising Hawthorn's playing style.

Clarkson was born in 1971 in Melbourne, Victoria. He played junior football for Oakleigh Chargers before being drafted by Hawthorn in 1988. He made his debut for Hawthorn in 1989 and went on to play 150 games for the club, including three Grand Finals. He retired from playing in 2000 due to a persistent knee injury.
