Submachine gun Kelly says he was 'close to death' before meeting Megan Fox
For Machine Gun Kelly, his romance with Megan Fox was quite the lifesaver.
The musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, and actress on a "dark fairy tale" has opened up about a relationship in a new cover story for British GQ, with Baker attributing that love to keeping him from completely giving up on life.
“I came from broken homes and watched Love Never Works. Then I grew up where in popular culture they don't make romantic movies anymore.” "It hurts my soul that I wasted 30 years of my life without any desire. Dude, I was on the verge of death. I was doing well. I was like, 'Okay, I got the music in there.'" This will frustrate me. "You know, my daughter is the best extension of me and she's going to be better than me. And I've seen some bullshit, so I'm fine." He then adds, "I've lost so many friends by suicide. Love has given me a reason to stay here," before starting to walk around and head to Fox to say, "Please shut me up. I
love you."
Baker also revealed that he suffers from post-traumatic stress from his difficult upbringing and drug issues. “I basically try to live without dying quickly every day,” he admits, adding that seeing how Fox handles her own issues inspired him to work on his own and open up about them with his fans. He says, “I want to be as well established as it is, but I am not there yet. I am open to it, but I do not want to deceive you as if you were there.” He also says he has "the utmost respect" for his girlfriend because she "helped me realize that you can't bury your trauma. Nobody knows anything about me. They don't know how deep that rabbit hole with my childhood and with all that my body has stored in itself."
But while their relationship has helped both of them grow tremendously as people, Fox makes sure to point out that these "exhilarating highs" also come with some equally grim lows. "This is a very strong relationship," she says. “Our souls have chosen this to confront our shadow selves; to confront things about ourselves we did not want to know, and which we have tried to push away.” MGK adds, "It should be light, but we also go to hell with each other. It's euphoria and agony for sure... I don't want people to think anything is perfect with us. I didn't say it was the darkest fairy tale for no reason. God bless you if you meet us." last Saturday." "There's also the devilish side," the actress agrees, laughing.
